The Executive Secretary of Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC), Eng. Raymond Mbilinyi.

THE private sector has been urged to continue investing in education to serve the ever growing number of youth in the country.

The Executive Secretary of Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC), Eng. Raymond Mbilinyi, said education was one of sectors that can promote the welfare of the nation’s youth and help in attaining sustainable development.

He was talking during a ninth Form Six graduation ceremony at Barbro Johansson Girl’s Secondary School in Mbezi, Kinondoni District at the weekend.

“It is through quality education that we will build this nation,” Eng. Mbilinyi who was the chief guest said. He said that every citizen at his or her position should emphasise on investing in education to build youth capacity to develop their nation.

“Youth should realise that it is through education that they will be able to lead their country well,” he noted. He noted further that investing in education serves double purposes: That of providing education to youth and creating employment to teachers and other specialties.

“Investing in this sector is killing two birds with a stone - let us strive for that,” he explained. He hailed the private sector for taking initiatives to prioritise investment in education, saying that the efforts help in elevating the country’s status.
